Dort Financial’s Annual Campaign Raises Over $49,000 To Support Michigan, Florida Non-Profit Causes

Dort Financial Credit Union has announced the results of its 2024 annual Snowman Sales fundraiser benefiting three charities. The local credit union raised $49,400 during the campaign through donations from credit union members and employees.

Dort Financial Credit Union, which operates as Flagler Credit Union in the Florida market, announced that three organization each received a donation of $16,468. The 2024 beneficiaries selected by Dort Financial Credit Union and Flagler Credit Union employees included Canines for Change (Grand Ledge, MI), SafeCenter (Owosso, MI), and ChildNet (West Palm Beach, FL).

The annual fundraiser continues to be a success for community charities thanks to Dort Financial and Flagler Credit Union members, who graciously donate each year during a six-week campaign.

“Donations of up to $50 are collected in exchange for a paper snowman that is displayed in the credit union’s branch. Members who donate have the option to write their name or a message on the paper snowman,” said Dort Chief Human Resources Officer Deana Turcott.

“We also raise funds collecting donations from Dort Financial and Flagler Credit Union employees by hosting special days, in which all money raised goes directly towards the snowman sales,” Turcott added.

Dort Financial Credit Union has raised money for charities with snowman sales for over 20 years.

“In 2023, we raised over $32,000,” Turcott noted. “The credit union is thrilled with the 2024 campaign amount and is honored to be a part of this generous community. We are always in awe of members and employees’ willingness to give so we can support some great causes.”
