September 13th : Dort Financial Shred Day
This year, Dort Financial is hosting one Shred Day at the Pierson Rd. and State Rd, locations on Saturday, September 13th from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Members can bring their personal documents to be shredded for free, including up to four standard-sized boxes. Please be mindful of the content you bring to be shredded, and avoid any metal or plastic/photo materials.
September 15th- Hurley Trauma Center’s Fall Golf Classic
Join the Fall Golf Classic and support your local hospital. These proceeds allow Hurley to continue to provide the highest levels of trauma and burn care using the latest advancements to treat the most critically ill adults and children in our region around the clock 24/7. September 18th – Food Bank of Eastern Michigan Empty Bowls
Held during national Hunger Action Month, this event is the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan’s signature fundraiser! Widely recognized as the Food Bank’s most popular event, over 1,000 attendees enjoy a simple meal of soup, bread and dessert. Guests also take home a handcrafted bowl as a reminder of hunger in our community. Join in on the fun and help fill empty bowls all year long.
September 24th – Serenity House – 11th Annual Recovery Walk and Rally
Join Serenity House Communities as they march forward in hope, strength, and unity at the Annual Recovery Walk & Rally. This powerful event celebrates the reality of recovery and raises awareness about the urgent need for services, support, and compassion for those impacted by substance use disorder. October 12th – Big Brothers Big Sisters Michigan Capitol Region – Miles for Mentorship
Support the 5th Annual Miles for Mentorship event for Big Brothers Big Sisters Michigan Capital Region’s mission to ignite the promise and power of youth! Miles for Mentorship is an outdoor, walk or run 5K. This year the event will be held at Hawk Island starting and ending at the Red Tail Shelter. Proceeds to this event help support the agency’s mission to create 1-to-1 mentoring relationships so that all youth achieve their full potential!
Back again! children 12 years of age and under are invited to participate in our Spooky Sprint Kids Run! Halloween costumes are encouraged, and each participant will receive a treat bag at the finish line. The Spooky Sprint is free of charge!
