June 24^th: Mott Fest

Friends of the Mott Park Recreation Area are hosting the 2^nd Annual Mott Fest at the refurbished clubhouse at 2701 Nolen Drive in Flint. Festivities will begin at 3:00 PM and run until 8:00 PM. There will be food trucks set up in the parking lot, activities for the children, a local vendor area with booths to purchase their wares, a beer tent, and live entertainment on the deck. June 29th : Flint Pride Festival

Come together  to celebrate diversity, amplify visibility, and foster a more connected community in our city. This year, the event is honoring 14 years of pride, love, and acceptance. From exhilarating performances to food, health screenings, vendors, and even a decompression space, there’s something for everyone at the Flint Pride Festival. June 29^th: Sleep in Heavenly Peace

All children deserve a safe, comfortable place to lay their heads. All across the US many boys and girls go without a bed—or even a pillow—to sleep on. These children end up sleeping on couches, blankets, and even floors. This can affect their happiness and health.

That’s where Sleep in Heavenly Peace comes in. They’re a group of volunteers dedicated to building, assembling and delivering top-notch bunk beds to children and families in need. Dort Financial is a proud sponsor of this bed-building event. For more information, please click here.

July 13^th: Genesee County Habitat for Humanity’s Bastille Day Race

The Genesee County Habitat for Humanity’s Bastille Day Race is upon us! The event features three timed, certified races: the 15K run, the 5K run, and the 5K walk. All proceeds will be used to support the mission of providing decent, affordable housing in Genesee County. Yearly, Genesee Habitat builds or rehabs 4-6 affordable homes, provides approximately 200 homeowners with critical repairs, and invests in various neighborhood improvement projects. This year, they are hoping to raise $30,000 to support their mission of providing homes, communities and hope in Genesee County. Visit their website for more information.

July 20^th: Grand Blanc Chamber of Commerce’s July Summer Jam with Kolby Oakley wsg The John Vance Band

What better way to celebrate Summer than with a concert?  And to top it off, all local veterans will receive free admission.
