With a Dort One Card, you can access your Checking Account funds without the hassle of finding a pen or tying up a checkout line while you write a check! It’s a checkbook in a plastic card.
You don’t have to pay an annual fee, and won’t be charged interest on your purchases because they are deducted from your Checking Account balance.
Your Dort One Card is a great way to keep track of your budget, because your monthly statement includes details of all your purchases and where they were made.
Your Dort One Card can also be used as your Dort Federal ATM card. You can withdraw from checking and savings accounts, perform balance inquiries, even make transfers. Click here to see some Frequently Asked Questions that offer more information about the this feature.
Use your Dort One Card at any merchant or ATM that accepts the VISA Debit card – down the street, or across the planet (click here for the latest currency exchange rates - Dort Federal charges a 1% mark up).

VISA Debit Card / ATM Card Combination - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Will I be receiving a new Dort One Card?
Yes, soon. You will continue using your current Visa Check Card until it expires. Members with Visa Check Cards expiring in August 2006, will be receiving a Dort One Card in late July as a replacement. Those with cards expiring after August 2006 will receive a new Dort One Card when their existing card expires. Lost or stolen Visa Check Cards will be replaced with a Dort One Card. Always be sure to report your lost or stolen card immediately to Dort Federal. Call (800) 543-5073 if you need to report a lost or stolen Dort One Card.
Does the new Dort One Card effect my 24/Seven ATM Access Card?
No, your 24/Seven ATM Access Card is not effected. However, you really no longer need your 24/Seven ATM Access Card. Since your Dort One Card works wherever VISA Debit is accepted and at any CO-OP or VISA Network ATM to access your checking and primary savings accounts, there really is no need to carry two cards (unless you want to).
Do I need to do anything different when using my Dort One Card to make a purchase?
No. However, it is your choice to select “Debit” or “Credit” when making a purchase. When you select “Debit,” you will be required to enter your PIN and the transaction will immediately be deducted from your checking account. When you select “Credit” you will (in most cases) have to sign for the transaction and it will be deducted from your checking account within a few business days.
What else should I know or remember about the new Dort One Card?
- When using your Dort One Card at a CO-OP or VISA Network ATM, the amount of your transaction will immediately post to your account (net of any holds, etc.).
- Using your Dort One Card at an ATM for withdrawals, transfers, or balance inquiries DOES count toward your limit of eight (8) free per month.
- When using your Dort One Card to make a purchase and selecting “Debit” then entering your PIN (vs. selecting “Credit” and signing for the purchase), the amount of the purchase will immediately be deducted from your checking account. These “Debit” purchases using your PIN DO NOT COUNT toward your eight (8) free transactions/inquiries per month.
- When using your Dort One Card to make a purchase and selecting “Credit” then signing for the purchase (vs. selecting “Debit” and entering a PIN), the amount of the purchase will post to your checking account within a few business days. “Credit” purchases with your Dort One Card DO NOT COUNT toward your eight (8) free transactions/inquiries per month.
- Basically, anytime you use your Dort One Card at a merchant (selecting debit or credit), it will NOT count toward your eight (8) free transactions per month.
What if the member doesn’t have a checking account or doesn’t qualify for a Dort One Card?
Dort Federal will still issue 24 Seven ATM Access Cards to those members who qualify who may only have a Share Savings Account or may not qualify for a Dort One Card.
Why do purchases I have made with my Dort One Card sometimes show up on my statement as ATM transactions?
If you make a purchase with your Dort One Card and select "Debit" and use your PIN, the transaction will show up on your statement as an ATM transaction. This is because when you select "Debit" you are using the ATM network to transfer the money to the merchant. If you make a purchase with your Dort One Card and select "Credit" and sign for the purchase, the transaction will show up on your statement as a purchase.
